In conjunction with Apple, GC Pro, IK Multimedia, McDSP, Sanjay Photography, Austin Music Foundation, Stubb's Bar-B-Q, and Stinson Recording Studios we are proud to announce The Recording Conservatory of Austin's 5th Annual Unsigned Artist Competition.

Where the best unsigned music artists in the country compete for 100 free hours of studio time (and other prizes) and to be seen and heard by some of the most important music industry representatives in the country.

The top 4 finalists will showcase at Stubb's for:

• Joe Berman, co-owner of Mediahorse Entertainment...a progressive, boutique music marketing firm with deep relationships in the film, television, advertising, gaming, and new media industries. He makes big money for many artists.

• Mollie Moore, A&R with Atlantic Records...signed bands such as Camera Can't Lie, The Rogue Band, and more....currently working on both the Kitten and The Rouge's forthcoming albums.

• Marc Wilson, A&R with Warner Chappell...signed bands such as Plain White T's, Deftones, Adelita's Way, and more.

The first step is to register your band for the contest. TRCoA will choose the 30 bands to compete to be one of the 4 bands, selected by fan voting, to play at the Stubb's showcase.

March 9 - April 17: Artist Submission (Extended to April 20th)
April 20 - May 19: Public voting for the 30 bands selected
May 20: Top 4 bands announced
May 25: Stubb's showcase featuring the top 4 bands

• Unsigned artist is defined by TRCoA as any band not signed to a major label with national distribution support.
• All artists entering to compete must have a full band. Solo performers will not be accepted unless they perform with a backing band. Any genre of music is welcomed.
• The 30 bands competing in the voting round will be selected by TRCoA.
• The 4 bands playing the Stubb's showcase will be selected by fan voting.
• Judges will use the criteria of crowd response, songwriting, performance, and originality to determine the winner of UAC 2011.
