One-On-One Online

Austin Texas Skyline Our online version of our recording arts program is like no other that exists. All of the same experiences you would have here at our Austin campus you will have with our online program. The only difference is that you will be in the city where you want to set up your future music production business. All of the lessons are still taught one-on-one via screen share, ichat, and Virtual Glass. Virtual Glass is a plug-in in Pro Tools that allows two Pro Tools systems to connect over the internet. With Virtual Glass and screen share we can mix, master, and edit as though we were sitting right there next to you. As a matter of fact- the experience is slightly better because we are working from two computers. In a traditional setting we would be on one computer working one at a time. With the Virtual Glass experience we can simultaneously work on the same project together. We can actually lead and guide your mouse while we talk you through the lesson.

When it comes to your projects, the first ones you will do entirely out of your small home studio that you will put together during enrollment (list of equipment requirements below). As you progress and your projects become more complex, you will use our vast network of professional recording studios around the country to track (record) your projects. Then you will go back to your home studio to edit, overdub, mix, and master the final products. We will be leading you all along the way (even when you are tracking in other studios) with our online learning system and via screen share, iChat and Virtual Glass.

Although our Austin campus classes are some of the best that exist for learning the business of music production, there is a distinct advantage to taking our classes in the city where you are going to start cultivating business. As you begin to build potential and actual clients while in school --If you're not taking the program in the city where you want to set up shop, then you'll have to start from scratch with your client relationships after you finish school.

Virtual Glass

Required Equipment

Virtual Glass Virtual Glass is eSession’s audio/video plug-in that allows two people in two different locations to record, produce and collaborate in real-time from any music software, Mac or Windows and in perfect sync. For example, a producer in New York using Pro Tools can produce a drummer in LA who uses different recording software and can monitor the session via audio and video as it happens. With Virtual Glass’s synchronization and latency compensation engine, the producer can remotely control the drummer’s software as both sessions play in sync with no latency.
