2008 Unsigned Artist Competition

TRCoA Voting is underway. The response was incredible for the first round of UAC 2008. We had well over a hundred entries and the range of genres was very diverse. Choosing the 25 bands to be part of the second stage was tough but now it is your turn to determine who goes on to play the Antone's Showcase on June 18th. Check out the 25 bands and vote for your favorite.

Austin Music Mixers

Austin Music Foundation Join the Austin Music Foundation for the new spring quarter of Austin Music Mixers:

Everyone knows relationship-building is important--especially in the music industry. Austin Music Mixer provides a friendly place for musicians and industry professionals to meet others who make their living from music, share experiences, and learn from each other. It's a great place to get plugged into the Austin music community, so come out and join us!

Who's In the Studio

Kyle Lewis with Slow Train

Slow Train Kyle Lewis, a TRCoA Beginning Engineering student, has been in the studio working with Slowtrain. Influenced by the Band, Neil Young, Bob Dylan R.E.M and many others, Slowtrain have been gaining fans and winning critics over with their roots rocker sound. Band members are Adoniram Lipton - vocals, piano, guitar; Brett Staggs - drums, vocals; Matt Roth - bass; and Andy Keating - guitar.

Ted Sanders with Rukus

Rukus Ted Sanders, a TRCoA Advanced Music Production student, has been in the studio with Rukus. With his gritty voice, smooth flow and witty lyrics, Rukus re-emerged in the summer of 2004 as a major player on the hip-hop scene. Rukus breaks the mold of Southern rappers and shows what happens when the strengths of underground and mainstream hip-hop unite under the command of one MC.

Joseph Radtke and Knights

Knights Joseph Radtke, a TRCoA graduate, is in the studio working with Knights. Knights are an American rock band formed in Austin, Texas. The band consists of Nick Longoria (guitar, piano and vocals) , Cody Pierce (bass, backing vocals) and Matt Herzig (drums). Knights blend progressive rock, alternative, classical, electronic and pop elements. Influenced by Muse, Radiohead, The Mars Volta and Phillip Glass, Knights are known for their epic, grandiose music and their energetic live performances.

Tanner Soetaert with SWINE HORDE

SWINE HORDE Tanner Soetaert, an Advanced Music Production student, has been in the studio working with SWINE HORDE. The sounds of notes tearing apart the sonic fabric, destroying the aural sensibility of your environment is weaved by SWINE HORDE. Band members Nick, CJ, Tanner and Erik hold nothing back, running at 220 until the sonic fumes crash down.
