Austin Music Foundation Music Mixer

Austin Music Foundation If you've been missing Austin Music Mixer, then here's one date you can add to your brand-new 2008 calendar: January 15. That will be the first Mixer of 2008, so stay tuned for all the details.
If you haven't gotten that brand new calendar yet, pick up a 2008 She Rocks Calendar. All proceeds benefit Austin Music Foundation's educational programs.

Austin Songwriters Group Music Symposium

Austin Songwriters Group Austin Songwriters Group is holding its annual Fall Music Symposium on January 4-6 at the Omni Hotel. A conference designed specifically for songwriters by songwriters, the Fall Music Symposium features a series of classes, panel discussions and workshops covering all major aspects of songwriting. Each seminar focuses on specific issues important to songwriters, including the obvious creative pursuits of writing, composing, arrangement and performance, as well as the business activities critical to professional success, including publishing, recording, marketing, publicity and much more. One of the most popular features of the Fall Music Symposium is the opportunity for songwriters to “pitch” their songs to producers and publishing contacts at the conference.

Conspirare

Conspirare In January of 2007, Conspirare was one of the initial recipients of the American Masterpieces - Choral Music grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. This founding made it possible for Conspirare to present a four-day festival featuring a stunning roster of clinicians, composers and, choirs. The festival was recorded by John Stinson, founder of TRCoA and Stinson Studios. Crossing the Divide: Exploring Influence and Finding Our Voice features many of the highlights from the festival. The CD was edited, mixed and mastered by John Stinson. Under Johnson’s leadership, Conspirare has been the recipient of three NEA grants, two GRAMMY nominations for its most recent recording, Requiem, and was awarded the 2005 Margaret Hillis Award For Choral Excellence. Rusty Kotzur and Little Writer Productions

Jack Horner Mysteries - The Case of the Spoon Rusty Kotzur, an Advance Music Production student, is in the studio working with Little Writer Productions on the indie short film Jack Horner Mysteries - The Case of the Spoon. Rusty is responsible for the sound editing, mixing, overdubbing, and additional foley work. Enter the world of Mother Goose. This mixture of past and present finds Little Jack Horner and other favorite characters grown up and dealing with real world problems like crime and getting decent donuts. Scott Harris and Frank Smith

Frank Smith Frank Smith is in the studio working with Scott Harris, from BigBang Music and a TRCoA Advanced Music Production student. Recently transplanted from Boston, Frank Smith has already staked its claim in the Austin music scene with their laid back indie honky tonk rock sound. While there isn't a Frank Smith in Frank Smith, the band is Aaron Sinclair, Brett Saiia and, Drew Roach. Listen to a clip of HIghway Eyes from Frank Smith.

Bradley Calhoun and 3 Piece Suit

Kevin Fox Bradley Calhoun, a Beginning Audio Engineering student, is in the studio working with the gypsy jazz guitar styling of 3 Piece Suit. The band is led by Kevin Fox who is also in Reid Wilson and His So Called Friends and Brass Knuckle Belt Buckle. Listen to a clip of Out of Nowhere Bradley and 3 Piece Suit are working on.
