Fall Semester Starts September 15th

There are only a few more weeks before the fall session begins. If there was ever a time to get it together and get signed up, it's now. We will be enrolling students right up to the September 15th start date.

First Friday Open House at TRCoA

First Friday will be September 7th, 2007. This is the last open house before the fall semester begins so it's going to be a busy and fun time. Anybody who is interested in TRCoA or Stinson Studios is welcome. Please come see the studio and chat with some of TRCoA's students, mentors, engineers, and musicians. Questions and tour at 7p and festivities at 8p. We are going to have Tin Star this month. Click here to rsvp and request a map to the studio.

TRCoA's Unsigned Artist Competition - Vote for your favorite band!

TRCoA's First Annual Unsigned Artist Competition has moved to the 2nd stage. 25 bands have been selected to complete for the top four spots and they need your vote. Head over to the Unsigned Artist Competition page and cast your vote. The 25 artists are competing for one of four spots in the final showcase on Sunday, September 16th at Antone's Night Club. The prize for the winning artist is a 10 song CD produced, recorded, mixed and mastered at Stinson Recording Studios.

Pro Tools Seminar: Editing

On Monday, August 20th, TRCoA will hold its monthly installment of its five part Pro Tools seminar series (Songwriting, Tracking, Editing, Mixing, and Mastering). This month's installment will cover Editing. John Stinson, founder of TRCoA, will host the seminar. The event will be from 6p - 10p and is mandatory for all current TRCoA Students and recommended for all TRCoA's Alumni that need a brush-up. Who's in the Studio

Joseph Villalpando with tje

Joseph Villalpando, a Beginning Audio Engineering student, has been in the studio working with tje. Blending acoustic R&B with a soulful voice, tje creates heartfelt music that will touch your soul. Listen to a clip from tje.

 

LT

Hip-hop artist "LT" was in the studio working with John Stinson, founder of TRCoA. LT has worked alongside such artists as Fat Joe, AZ, Foxy Brown, the whole Cash Money Millionaire Family, Fabolos and B2K. A rising star in the Boston scene, LT is getting rotation on Boston's Urban music station, 94.5 FM as well as Clinton Spark’s Sirius Satellite radio show, Shady – 4 – 5, a division of G-Unit radio. Joseph Radtke and The A-B Theory

The A-B Theory is in the studio working with Joseph Radtke, a TRCoA Advanced Music Production student. The A-B Theory is Jesse Joseph Smith. Creating indie electronic pop songs, Jesse programs the beats, plays synths, guitar, bass and sings. The quirky pop sound is influenced by Modest Mouse, Rilo Kiley, Electric President and The Postal Service. Listen a clip from The A-B Theory.

 

Adrian Croom and Legion the Darksyde

Adrian Croom, a TRCoA Beginning Audio Engineering student, is in the studio working with rap artist Legion the Darksyde. Coming from the eastside of Austin, Legion's rhymes often reflect the pain and violence that he grew up around.
