Mid-Summer Semester Starts July 15th

There are only a few more weeks before the mid-summer session begins. Now's the time to get it together and get your career in music started.

First Friday Open House at TRCoA

First Friday will be July 6th, 2007. Anybody who is interested in TRCoA or Stinson Studios is welcome. Please come see the studio and chat with some of TRCoA's students, mentors, engineers, and musicians. Questions and tour at 7p and festivities at 8p. We are going to have Jason's Deli this month. TRCoA and Stinson Studios building new facility

We are excited to announce we have broken ground for the new TRCoA and Stinson Studios facility. The building will be located on the northwest side of Austin on City Park Road and is expected to take 10 - 12 months to complete. The new location will feature a beautiful view of downtown Austin. More details on the studio and rooms will follow as we build the new facility.

Conspirare releases 'Love Calls You - Christmas at the Carillon 2006'

Love Calls You: Christmas at the Carillon 2006 is the latest release from Grammy-nominated Conspirare. Under the direction of Craig Hella Johnson, the concert features New Orleans singer John Boutte and Conspirare in a passionate and soulful performance. Conspirare , based in Austin, Texas is a select group of professional singers from throughout the United States, known for evocative performances and hailed by critics as one of the finest choral groups in the nation. TRCoA founder, John Stinson, recorded, mixed, mastered and co-produced the recording.

Pro Tools Seminar: Songwriting

On Monday, July 23rd, TRCoA will hold its monthly installment of its five part Pro Tools seminar series (Songwriting, Tracking, Editing, Mixing, and Mastering). This month's installment will cover Songwriting. John Stinson, founder of TRCoA, will host the seminar. The event will be from 6:30p - 10p and is mandatory for all current TRCoA Students and recommended for all TRCoA's Alumni that need a brush-up. Who's in the Studio

John Stinson with SECOND2LAST

SECOND2LAST is in the studio working with John Stinson, TRCoA's founder. SECOND2LAST has put together some great vibey alternative punk metal songs. The band is made up of Travis on bass and vocals, Brandon on guitars and vocals, and Jake on drums. Influenced by the likes of Blink 182, New Found Glory and Sublime, SECOND2LAST continues to have a good time playing for their fans. Listen to a clip from SECOND2LAST.

Adrian Croom with KING

Adrian Croom, a TRCoA Beginning Audio student, and KING are in the studio. KING is a side project of Yadira Brown and DBM Mars. With Yadira's vocal out front, KING crafts pop-based electronic music with a strong dance inclination. Listen to a clip Adrian is working on with KING.

Jake Raines with Poacher

Poacher is in the studio working with Jake Raines, a TRCoA Beginning Audio student. Members of former Texas hardcore bands Thumbscrew, and 25 Dollar Massacre and Bitter End have joined together to bring the most violent and pissed off music to date. Featuring Chirrs on vocals, Drew on guitar, Keith on bass, and Poopie on drums, this should prove to be something new and unique. Listen to the sonic havoc Jake and Poacher are working on.

 

Rusty Kotzur with Hosty Duo

Rusty Kotzur , a TRCoA Advanced Music Production student, has ben in the studio with Hosty Duo. The Hosty Duo is Michael Hosty on guitar, vocals, kazoo and bass pedals with Michael “Tic Tac” Byars on the drums. Listen to a clip of a song Rusty and Hosty Duo are working on.
