Events

Holiday Mixer Celebration with CSE and BMI

Lisa Schickel from Capitol Sports and Entertainment (Austin City Limits/ Lolla palooza) and Jill McGuckin (Right, center) from BMI hosted a holiday industry party at Stubbs this month. TRCoA's Staff and many students were there mingling with some of Austin's most active musicians, producers, and promoters. We all thank Lisa Schickel and her team for their many fun events and their continued contribution to the Austin music industry social scene.

John Stinson, founder of TRCoA, will host the seminar. The event will be from 6:30p - 10p and is mandatory for all current TRCoA Students and strongly recommended for all TRCoA's Alumni. This event is also open to the public, everyone is welcome. Click here to rsvp and request a map to the studio.

TRCoA staff voting for 49th GRAMMY Awards

As a voting member of The Recording Academy, John Stinson (TRCoA's Founder) is working with TRCoA's staff to complete the ballot for the grammy nominations. We are all excited to see who is going to win this year.

Who's in the Studio

Adam Hutchison with Quiet Company

Adam Hutchison, a TRCoA Beginning Audio Engineering student, is the studio with Quiet Company. Taylor, Thomas and Tim create piano-driven rock, loaded with infectious melodies. Influenced by The Beatles, Radiohead, The Smashing Pumpkins and The Beach Boys, Quiet Company's latest release, Shine Honesty, has earned high praise from critics and fans. Listen to a clip from a song Quiet Company and Adam are working on.

Rusty Kotzur with Travis Linville

Rusty Kotzur, a TRCoA Beginning Audio Engineering student, is the studio with Travis Linville. The acoustic/folk sound Travis creates invokes the spirit of okie music. Linville seems to personify the Red Dirt sound with dazzling instrumentals and simple, heartfelt songwriting. Travis' work has earned him an extensive fan base and a great deal of respect from artists and venues in the music community. Listen to a clip from Travis Linville.

Scott Harris with Brennen Leigh

Scott Harris, a TRCoA Beginning Audio Engineering student, was in the studio with Brennen Leigh tracking a 12 song demo of solo guitar and vocal tracks to send to a California indie label. In just a few years, Brennen has firmly established herself as one of the Lone Star State's premiere singers and songwriters. Her approach is both astoundingly simple and wonderfully complex. Brennen's sound is an intoxicating blend of raw talent, wily wit and bittersweet heartbreak, all touched by an affecting, uncommon grace. Listen to a clip from Brennen Leigh.
